Before and after mercury free fillings

Mercury-Free Fillings

The common silver filling contains mercury. Dr. Jindal’s practice uses the highest-quality biocompatible, tooth-colored restorations to create healthy, beautiful smiles. Since the composite material adheres directly to the tooth enamel, less preparation of the tooth is required before using it. This means it is more durable and provides a more natural-looking result for your smile.

Bonding & Sealants

Composite bonding resin is a white, tooth-colored material that can be shaded to match your child’s teeth. This material can give you a low-cost improvement in your smile. Normal pits and grooves on the chewing surfaces of back teeth can trap food that can’t easily be removed with brushing. These sealants are painted onto the tooth surface to seal these pits and grooves and protect against decay.

Crowns (Caps)

Dr. Jindal uses a crown (often called a cap) to cover the tooth and restore it to its original share and size. Decay is removed and cleaned from the tooth and a preformed crown is placed over the tooth. Unlike adult crowns, in which the crown is made to fit the tooth, which requires two appointments, baby crowns are placed in one visit, because the tooth is prepared to fit the crown.

Baby Root Canal

With Dr. Jindal, root canal therapy for children isn’t as scary as most people think. Root canal therapy is an excellent way to save a tooth that would otherwise die and need to be removed. All teeth that have had root canal therapy must be protected with a crown. This is because teeth that have had the pulp removed are more susceptible to fracture.

Extraction (tooth removal)

Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in situations when the tooth is beyond repair. Dr. Jindal will never put your child through this procedure unless absolutely necessary. Dr. Jindal will inform you if she thinks that there is no other treatment that can save the tooth.

Mouthguards

Is your child involved in wrestling, rugby, football, soccer, or another aggressive contact sport? Dr. Jindal can design and create a custom mouthguard that will protect your child’s teeth and greatly reduce the amount of dental trauma and treatment they could need, should they be injured.

Nutrition for Healthy Teeth in Children & Teens

Dr. Aditi Jindal believes healthy dental care starts with well-balanced nutrition. Nutrition for healthy teeth in children includes consuming a well-balanced, nutritional diet that limits foods & drinks more likely to cause cavities (those high in sugars, carbohydrates, and starches) and is high in antioxidants and other nutrients. What your child eats has a direct effect on their dental health and plays a vital role in preventive dentistry.

“I am sitting here watching them put a cap on my 10-year-old and the way they are with her is AMAZING!! Thank you so much for your kindness and patience. You guys are the best!!!”
